Jennifer Katz, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and an active member of the full time faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Katz graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she graduated with a distinction in gastroenterology research. She presented her research on chromoendoscopy in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at a national conference and published in Gastroenterology on steroid refractory ulcerative colitis. She completed her internal medicine residency at NYU Langone Medical Center and her gastroenterology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. During her fellowship, she was awarded a visiting fellowship in IBD at Mount Sinai Medical Center by the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). She also is board certified as a Physician Nutrition Specialist.

Area of Interest

General GI, inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition in health and disease, irritable bowel syndrome, women's health and GI issues in pregnancy, celiac disease, and colorectal cancer screening, and capsule endoscopy.
